What is this event about?

As Software Defined Networking (SDN) moves from hype to reality, industry needs to prepare for the transition. The ANZ-SDN alliance’s mission is to foster a community to understand, adopt, and evaluate SDN technology for the Australia New Zealand region.

This inaugural event is for company executives, network architects, operators and researchers who are considering SDN adoption. Talks from network operators, early adopters and visionaries will give you insights into the opportunities and challenges faced in deploying SDN. Live demonstrations of SDN use-cases will help you see and feel the technology in an interactive setting. Use the day to network with peers to form a local SDN community, and to share common concerns around adoption strategy, skills training, experimental evaluation, and technology evolution.

Why should you attend?

  • Meet ICT executives and practitioners to share knowledge about  best practices and pain points with peers,
  • Network with subject matter experts and discuss views on SDN, open source, and open networking,
  • Understand the evolving SDN eco-system and identify key criteria needed to evaluate platforms, and
  • Form a local community that can collectively shape the adoption of SDN technology in this region, and align it with global trends.

Organisers:

  • A/Prof. Vijay Sivaraman of UNSW,
  • Dr. Craig Russell of CSIRO,
  • Josh Bailey of Google,
  • Michael Costello, and
  • Alex Turner of Luma Networks.
